Youth Murdered on London Tube

A male youth who was stabbed in London's Victoria Tube station during tonight's rush hour has died, British Transport Police have said.



A statement from BTP said: "British Transport Police can confirm that officers are investigating a fatal stabbing at London Victoria station.
"The incident occurred at approximately 5.20pm today and BTP are appealing for witnesses to contact them.
"A male youth was taken to hospital, where he later died.
"Police can confirm that a number of arrests have been made and officers from the BTP and Metropolitan Police remain at the scene.

16-2-2009, to exercise their right to take photos on the streets of police officers and buildings in line with their work and hobbies, as new anti-terror law comes into affect today.

Section 76 of the Counter Terrorism Act, which has now become law, could see photographers arrested for doing their job. Section 76 creates a new offence of eliciting, publishing or communicating information about the Armed Forces, intelligence services or police which may be of use to terrorists.

De Menezes inquest starts in London

The Brazilian electrician was shot at Stockwell Tube station in south London the day after the botched 21 July 2005 London suicide attacks.

Three of Mr de Menezes' cousins arrived at the inquest on Monday, flanked by members of the Justice 4 Jean campaign.

Alex and Alessandro Pereira and Patricia da Silva Armani made no comment as they entered the hearing. They and other relatives have campaigned for police officers involved in the shooting to be prosecuted. Also pictured are members of the families legal team.

The inquest is being held at the John Major conference room at the Oval Cricket Ground because of the scale of the proceedings and level of public interest.
